Holographic LED posters in shop windows
A transparent LED screen lets you advertise in a window without giving up the daylight or the view. This guide covers what it actually does, how it is mounted, and the cases where a solid screen is still the better buy.
What "holographic" means here
Not a projection and not a gimmick - it is a transparent LED panel. Content appears to float in mid-air while you can still see straight through the screen. Our panels areover 80% transparent with a display thickness of just1.8 mm, so the hardware mostly disappears.
Why it works in a window
- Daylight still enters. Unlike a solid screen, the shop stays bright.
- The view is preserved. Often a condition of the lease or mall rules.
- Naked-eye 3D content. Transparent-background video makes products appear to float, which stops foot traffic better than a flat panel.
- It is light. A 55" hanging panel is 12 kg, so most ceilings need no extra structure.
Brightness, honestly
Transparent panels run 2000 to 4500 cd/m2 depending on pixel pitch. That is comfortably readable in a bright storefront - but it is less than a solidoutdoor LED poster at 6500 cd/m2. The trade is deliberate: some light passes through by design. If your priority is maximum brightness on a sunlit street rather than transparency, choose the solid panel.
Mounting options
- Hanging - the most common for storefront windows, using steel wires or chains. No special structure needed at these weights.
- Free-standing base - for indoor entrances and anywhere hanging is not possible.
- Wall-mounted or glass bracket - space-saving for showrooms, or a tension cable system across glazing.
- Multi-screen splicing - two to ten panels become one large holographic wall.
Choosing a size and pitch
Hanging panels come in 43", 50", 55", 65" and 70", plus a55" square (1000 x 1000 mm) for square openings. Pixel pitch isP2.5, P2.9 or P3.9 - finer for closer viewing, wider for longer sightlines. For floor positions, thewheeled range runs from 1 x 2 m up to 2 x 3 m in P2.9, P3.9 or P6.25.
Where it earns its cost
- Retail shop and boutique windows
- Luxury brand showrooms - fashion, jewellery, watches, cosmetics
- Airport duty-free and transport concourses
- Shopping mall corridors and atrium voids
- Car showrooms and hotel lobbies
What to tell us
- Window dimensions and whether the view through it must be preserved.
- Whether the glass gets direct sun, and at what time of day.
- Viewing distance from the pavement.
- Whether you can hang from the ceiling, or need a floor base.
With those four answers we can specify size, pitch and mounting - and tell you plainly if a solid screen would serve you better.
Common questions
How transparent is it really?
Over 80% visually on most models, and up to 85% at the widest pixel pitch. The finer the pitch, the slightly lower the transparency, so expect 70-85% across the range.
Is it visible in daylight?
Yes. Depending on pixel pitch, brightness runs 2000 to 4500 cd/m2, which reads clearly in a bright storefront while still letting daylight through.
Will it block the view into my shop?
Far less than a solid screen. That is the point of the product - where preserving the view is a condition of the lease or the mall, a transparent panel is often the only option that satisfies it.
How is it mounted on glass?
By glass bracket, hanging wires or a tension cable system, depending on the site. Wheeled and floor-standing bases are also available where hanging is not possible.
What sizes are available?
Hanging panels come in 43", 50", 55", 65" and 70", plus a 55" square at 1000 x 1000 mm. Wheeled and floor units run from 1 x 2 m up to 2 x 3 m.
Can several panels form one large screen?
Yes. Two to ten hanging panels, or up to twenty wheeled units, can be spliced into a single holographic wall.
Can it show content on both sides?
Yes on the dual-view hanging models - people inside and outside the store both see it, and each side can show the same or different content.
When should I choose a solid LED poster instead?
When maximum brightness matters more than the view - a sunlit street-level position, for example. Our outdoor LED posters reach 6500 cd/m2, well beyond any transparent panel.
